Tibet, Bhutan and Nepal – amazing to discover

Tibet, Bhutan and Nepal – amazing to discover

Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet are south Asian destinations that lie between China and India, and while relatively small on the tourism scene, are extremely fascinating and all the more special for the personal experience they provide.

From taking in the spectacular Mount Everest in Nepal, going bird-watching in Bhutan and to experiencing Buddhist customs in Tibet, this part of the world is a hidden gem.

At Nepal Uncovered, we are passionate about all three of these places and are proud to offer tailored and small-group tours to them.

Nepal classic journeys

By booking Nepal classic journeys, you certainly will not be left disappointed.

As you fly into the capital of Kathmandu you will be given time to discover its bustling spice markets and narrow alleyways. Next, you could head to the Chitwan National Park and set off on a safari to spot Bengal tigers, Indian elephants and one-horned rhinos.

The city of Lumbini is said to be the birthplace of the Lord Buddha and you will get the chance to see Buddhists making a pilgrimage here. While Nepal is perhaps most famous for being home to Mount Everest, your holiday to the country can be whatever you want it to be – and you might be more than happy with just being able to see the peak on a clear day, rather than climbing up it!

Bhutan classic journeys

The remote, traditional and deeply Buddhist country of Bhutan is a hidden gem. When on Bhutan classic journeys, you can expect to come across beautifully preserved forests, breathtaking mountain landscapes and jaw-dropping monasteries.

Bird-watchers will love the fact that the destination is home to a variety of winged creatures such as the Himalayan monal and the blood grouse. Don't miss the amazing Thimphu Market, where you can sample local food and pick up crafts as a souvenir of your break.

One of the highlights of your Bhutan tour could be the Tiger's Nest monastery on the Taktshang cliff – if you're brave enough, look down at the 800 m rock face!

Tibet classic journeys

Featuring the largest and highest plateau in the world, you will be struck by the inspiring landscape you will come across on Tibet classic journeys.

The destination is located on the south-western border of China and its administrative centre is Lhasa. You will be able to discover this on your journey through the destination and take in the palaces of Norbulingka and Potala, as well as the Barkhor Bazaar.

Tibetan Buddhism is the main religion here and you are likely to be humbled by the simple lives that the monks lead. Their colourful temples are often set against a backdrop of snow – the country is very high and so cold – which makes for a perfect photograph.

Uncover Nepal – for your ideal holiday

Most of the tours Uncover Nepal offers have a combination of two or three destinations included within them, so you don't need to necessarily restrict yourself to seeing one place.

As they are small territories, you can easily travel between them – so if all three sound like countries you would like to visit, why not book a holiday that caters to this?

Our travel consultants can help to tailor your classic journeys so you get to experience the sights and attractions you want to. All you need to do is contact them on 0845 130 48 49 and they will do the rest of the hard work for you.
