Search for river cruises with Cruise.co.uk

Search for river cruises with Cruise.co.uk

Cruising doesn't just have to be about sailing the seven seas – there are many voyages that you can undertake along rivers too.

When you visit Cruise.co.uk, you will be able to search through a range of trips by different operators to find the one that suits you.

Ships set off to cruise along the rivers of Europe, as well as to follow the course of some of the Far East's most famous waterways.

If you're not sure which option would be best for you, read some of the reviews left on our site by other cruisers – they can give you a clearer idea of what to expect when you board your ship.

River cruises in Europe

There are many waterways in Europe that are suitable to be explored from the comfort of a cruise ship.

Depending on which river – and route – you choose, you could spend the duration of your journey discovering the finer points of a single nation – as you would on a voyage on the River Seine in France – or you can take in numerous countries as you sail.

For instance, many holidays on the River Danube will see you pass through Germany, Austria, Hungary and Romania, while a trip following the River Rhine will also take you to Germany, as well as France and Holland.

Meanwhile, if you want to go a bit further off the regular tourist trail, you might like to consider river cruises on the Dnieper, where you can visit Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

Should you be keen to have a cruising experience in some less well-known destinations, you may want to look into the voyages offered by Hurtigruten Cruises, as these often call in at more secluded locations than other itineraries.

Cruises in the Far East and elsewhere

Of course, you will not be restricted to Europe if you want to go on a river cruise, with several waterways outside the continent accessible to liners.

The River Nile in Egypt could be a great choice if you want to soak up some history – as well as sun – on your trip. Passing through Cairo, Luxor, the Valley of the Kings and Aswan, it is the ideal way to see the country's most famous sights on a relaxing trip.

Heading further afield, you can also explore the Far East from the comfort of a cruise ship.

Viking River Cruises offers holidays on the Yangtze River in China, as well as a break that follows the River Mekong taking in Cambodia and Vietnam along the way.

Choose the latter of these options and you can look forward to visiting famous sights, including the Angkor Wat temple complex near Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phnom Penh and Kampong Cham are just a few of the other ports of call you can enjoy while on this 15-night voyage.
