Nepal trekking holidays with Walks Worldwide

written by Dan Casper March 19, 2016

Nepal trekking holidays with Walks Worldwide

Nepal is one of the world's foremost trekking destinations and, with some of the most famous peaks in the Himalayan mountain range sitting within its borders, it is easy to see why.

Whether you are keen to take on the challenge of the Everest Base Camp trek or would simply like to explore this remarkable country on two feet, Walks Worldwide should be your first port of call.

We offer a wide selection of Nepal trekking holidays, including breaks that are tailor-made for you, so you should be able to find an itinerary that suits your abilities with us.

Destinations for Nepal trekking

Undoubtedly one of the most famous treks is the trail to the Everest Base Camp. The entire trip lasts for a little over two weeks, with around 12 days spent making the ascent to your final destination.

There will be rest days planned along the way to help you acclimatise to the higher altitudes you will reach during the course of your holiday. This also gives you the opportunity to explore some of the stop-off points in more depth, such as Namche Bazaar and Dingboche.

Another popular option for Nepal trekking holidays is the area around Annapurna, one of the Himalayas' many impressive peaks.

The Annapurna circuit is a challenging but incredibly rewarding route, while you could opt for some classic walking in the Annapurna Sanctuary, which will take you through picturesque valleys, vibrant forests and stunning landscapes.

Explore off the beaten track

If you are keen to avoid the crowds, you may want to consider a trek around Mustang. Here, you will be able to enjoy stunning views of the Annapurna Mountains, while also having the opportunity to discover some less-frequented trekking routes.

A highlight of this trip is sure to be a visit to the walled city of Lo Manthang, while you can look forward to seeing some wonderful panoramas across the Tibetan plateau.

Alternatively, you could book our Dolpo trek, which will take you into Nepal's north-west where you really feel as though you have left the modern world behind.

There are no roads in this part of the country that can be navigated by motor vehicles and although the number of people living in the region is small, you can still expect a warm welcome from the locals in the villages you visit during your journey. Tokyu is just one of the places you will stop at and it holds the honour of being the world's highest, permanently inhabited settlement.
