Merry Cricketmas for sporting holidays

With the England cricket team heading to South Africa this Christmas and New Year, Sport Abroad has launched specified holiday packages for the event.

As well as catching the top-class cricket in the sunshine, visitors can celebrate Christmas Day with a lunch at Durban’s finest Game Reserve and be part of an exclusive New Year’s Eve Waterfront Cruise.

Packages for the 2nd and 3rd test (December 23rd 2009 – January 8th 2010) start from £2999 per person including 15 nights 3* accommodation and return flights (excludes match tickets and functions).

The Tour C 4* package starts from £4395 per person and includes guaranteed official match tickets, 15 nights 4* accommodation on B&B basis, return international flights, domestic flights (where applicable), welcome drinks, Christmas Day lunch at the Game Reserve, New Year’s Eve cruise, airport and match transfers and souvenir merchandise.

And of course also in South Africa is the World Cup 2010 next year, the draw for which is expected later today.

For rugby enthusiasts packages to the RBS Six Nations Championship 2010 in February and March are currently available.

This tour is spectacular, not only for the battling rivalries on the pitch but also for the unique cultures of each host city. The likes of Rome, Dublin, Edinburgh and Paris offer iconic sights, wonderful restaurants and hotels, as well as lively bars to explore when the match action winds down.

Experience springtime in Paris and watch France versus England on Saturday March 20th 2010. Gullivers offer two and three night packages starting from £305 per person including two nights 2* B&B hotel accommodation (19th-21st March), guaranteed match ticket and the services of a Gullivers representative. With travel to Paris by Eurostar, prices start from £395 per person.
