Book flights to Chicago with Virgin Atlantic

Book flights to Chicago with Virgin Atlantic

As one of the biggest cities in the United States, Chicago has plenty to offer holidaymakers of all interests. Whether you're keen on trying The Windy City's fantastic cuisine or watching its iconic sports teams in action, this is one destination that won't disappoint.

If you're looking to book flights to Chicago, come to Virgin Atlantic. As one of the world's most popular and well-respected airlines, we offer seasonal routes to this astounding city from Heathrow during the summer months. Set off from London and you'll arrive in Chicago in 8 hours and 55 minutes, with the return journey lasting 8 hours.

Soak up the sights and sounds of Chicago

From the minute your Virgin Atlantic plane has touched down at the city's O'Hare International Airport, you can be certain of finding landmarks and activities that appeal.

One building you won't fail to miss is the 110-storey high Willis Tower, although it's still commonly referred to by its former name of the Sears Tower, which is the tallest building in the United States. By heading to the Skydeck observation area on the 103rd floor, you'll get to take in panoramic views of the city.

If you're an art and culture fan, check out the amazing Museum of Contemporary Art and the Field Museum. The latter, which is situated on South Lake Shore Drive, is home to one of the largest tyrannosaurus rex skeletons in the world. With museums dedicated to a vast range of subjects, including surgical science and Mexican art, you will easily find institutions that fascinate you.

Sports lovers will also be in their element upon arriving in Chicago, as the city is home to a string of famous clubs. If you're a fan of basketball you'll probably want to see at least one Chicago Bulls game. The NBA team play at the city's United Center arena and are perhaps most associated with Michael Jordan, commonly regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time. While Jordan has long retired from the game, you can still expect to see fantastic players in action when the side take to the court.

Baseball lovers are also spoilt for choice in Chicago, as it is home to two top teams, the White Sox and the Cubs, who play their games at the US Cellular Field and Wrigley Field respectively.

As you can see, there are plenty of things to see and do in the city which means you're soon likely to work up an appetite. Tucking into a Chicago-style hot dog – which is topped with mustard, sweet pickle relish and tomatoes – is a great way to get an authentic taste of the city. Don't make the mistake of asking for ketchup on your hot dog though, as the condiment's use on the snack is generally disapproved of by the locals. Whatever you choose to do in Chicago, booking a flight with Virgin Atlantic will be your first step in having an amazing trip.

Why fly with Virgin Atlantic?

Chicago is a truly wonderful destination, so if you wish to experience it for yourself make sure you come to Virgin Atlantic. As we are dedicated to offering low-cost flights to the city – not to mention 34 other destinations across the world – there is no need to go anywhere else when it comes to booking a trip to Chicago.

You can choose from a selection of travel classes, including Economy and Premium Economy. With the former, you'll enjoy complimentary drinks and delicious meals during your flight to the Windy City, while your personal seatback TV enables you to watch a range of films, TV shows and listen to music.

Upgrading to Premium Economy offers an even more luxurious travel experience and, if you're flying from Heathrow, you can relax on a comfortable leather seat that provides plenty of room to stretch out. Other value-added services on hand when travelling in this class include dedicated check-in and bag drop so you can avoid the queues. Your meals will be served on china dinnerware and stainless steel cutlery and you'll also be given a complimentary glass of fizz.

If you want to arrive in real style, though, you should book a seat in our Upper Class cabin. This is all about total luxury and as we offer a chauffer-driven transfer service that will pick you up from your home and take you to the airport. From here, you will be taken through a dedicated private check-in channel, so you can not only beat the queues but will have more time to relax in our award-winning clubhouse where you can relax at the bar before your flight takes off.

As you settle down into your seat, you'll be given a complimentary glass of fizz and tuck into gourmet food that is served on china plates. You will also be able to relax on fully-reclining extra-wide bed that is larger than that offered in business travel by any other airline and plug your laptop into a mains socket so you can work while your travel. You can expect the same standard of luxury on your way back to London and, upon touching down at Heathrow, you can refresh yourself at our exclusive revivals lounge by having a hot shower and a cooked breakfast.
