Although many British holidaymakers are having to make financial sacrifices this year, they can still enjoy a luxury holiday for less if they stay in an Indian homestay, according to Mahindra Homestays.

The homestay company believes that their unusual accommodation could be just the ticket for Brits who still want an exotic high-quality holiday, but want to pay less this year.

As an alternative to traditional, and expensive, luxury hotel accommodation – the homestay concept allows guests to live with local Indian families, who have been selected by the company for their excellent hospitality, homes and food.

An affordable option, homes vary from a budget friendly £25 per night to a luxurious, value for money £140 per night, based on two sharing. Guests can also experience authentic home-cooked Indian food without the astronomical hotel price tags; a seven course feast costs less than £7 per person in a homestay.

The experience also offers travellers a unique chance to get under the skin of a country. The homestays are run by the homeowners themselves and are keen to welcome guests into their homes, to share experiences and build friendships – something which hotels simply can’t provide.

Mahindra Homestays is part of the Mahindra Holidays & Resorts Ltd who run homsestay options across India.
