Holiday cottages in the Roseland Peninsula

Holiday cottages in the Roseland Peninsula

Pendennis Castle - Roseland PeninsulaThe Roseland Peninsula is an attractive destination for Cornish cottage holidays, thanks to its unspoilt natural scenery, serene beaches and historical attractions.

Some of the most popular Roseland Peninsula holiday locations include Veryan, Portloe, Portscatho and St Mawes – each of which is home to Cornwall cottages provided by Cornish Traditional Cottages.

Veryan and Portloe cottages

Veryan is a small village perfect for those looking for some peace and quiet away from the other tourists that flock to Cornwall every year. Veryan has some unique 19th century cottages that were apparently built to be round rather than have straight walls to avoid giving the devil a corner to hide in.

Portloe is another traditional village located on a hillside surrounding a harbour and rocky inlet, affording some stunning views for those staying in the area.

Accommodation provided by Cornish Traditional Cottages in Veryan and Portloe tends to take the form of cosy and old-fashioned cottages – perfect for a romantic escape to the south Cornwall coast.

Portscatho cottages

Portscatho is a fishing village featuring one of the biggest breeding colonies for seabirds on the south coast, as well as a compact harbour beach and plenty of scope for memorable beach and cliff walks.

Nearby Gerrans is also worth a look for its church spire, which is something of a local landmark.

Portscatho accommodation offered by Cornish Traditional Cottages includes modern apartments and more rustic establishments to suit a variety of tastes.

St Mawes cottages

Visitors looking for holiday homes in Cornwall in St Mawes will find much to see and do. A former port town dating back to medieval times, St Mawes is perfect for those looking to indulge in a spot of sailing and other watersports like windsurfing.

You can also catch a ferry to Falmouth or Place, as well as take in St Mawes Castle and its twin Pendennis, which were built by Henry VIII in the 16th century to guard against invaders from across the English Channel.

Cornish Traditional Cottages has accommodation to suit all parties, including apartments and cottages that can sleep between two and six people.
