Going on a Paris city break?

written by Dan Casper March 19, 2016

Going on a Paris city break?

Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway for two, a weekend away with your best friends or a fun-filled family holiday with a bit of history and culture thrown in for good measure, a city break in Paris could be the perfect choice!

If you're looking for the best accommodation in the French capital – in a good location but without a hefty price tag – then Vacenza is the place to start.

As an online travel agency, we can help you find the perfect Paris hotel for your requirements.

So many choices in the city of romance!

The Eiffel Tower is the most iconic of the Parisian landmarks. Built in 1889 for the World's Fair, it is still the tallest building in Paris and millions of tourists visit every year. Getting to the top is easy via a lift, or if you're feeling energetic you can brave the stairs. Either way, you'll be rewarded at the top with remarkable views across the city.

Another popular destination is Notre Dame de Paris, a gothic cathedral featuring intricate stained glass, flying buttresses and gargoyles. Meanwhile, the nearby Sainte-Chapelle may not be as famous, but many say its architecture and stained glass are even more beautiful.

If you want to do a bit of shopping, the Champs Elysees is arguably the finest place in the world for retail therapy. Much of this avenue, which runs for nearly 2 km from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde, is lined with luxury shops and high-end real estate. Indeed, many of the top names in fashion can be found here, including Louis Vuitton, Cartier and Lacoste.

What's more, the Champs Elysees is home to many important events every year, such as the Bastille Day Parade on July 14th, and it offers a stunning lighting display during the Christmas season. Plus, it's the location of the finishing line of the Tour de France.

For those who enjoy great works of art, a trip to the Louvre is a must. As one of the world's largest art museums, you could spend years enjoying this treasure trove of masterpieces, which includes works like the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo and the Winged Victory of Samothrace.

There's also the Musee d'Orsay, which is situated in a building that once served as a train station and still maintains the stunning glass arched ceiling. Inside, you'll find mainly impressionist works by artists like Degas, Van Gogh, Monet and Cezanne.

Even more to enjoy and explore

In addition to the world-famous attractions, Paris is also home to an array of gourmet restaurants, charming cafes and shops where you can pick up mouth-watering wines, cheeses, chocolates and pastries – so it's likely you'll never feel hungry during your trip!

Of course, you can't forget the River Seine, which winds its way through the capital city – a boat tour could be the perfect way to get a different view of this cosmopolitan destination.

There are also plenty of parks, gardens and other sites to explore, while a journey further afield will take you to the stunning Palace of Versailles.

However you wish to enjoy your Paris city break, when you book a room through Vacenza, you can rest assured that when the day is through, you'll have a comfortable and affordable hotel room to come back to. So why not start planning your trip by visiting our website today?
