Enjoy a Lanzarote villa holiday

written by Dan Casper March 19, 2016

Enjoy a Lanzarote villa holiday

As one of the seven main Canary Islands, Lanzarote is a favourite destination for British and Irish holidaymakers. The destination offers warm, sandy beaches, stunning scenery and a thrilling atmosphere, making it the perfect choice for families, couples and groups of friends.

Those visiting the island often choose to find Lanzarote villas for rent. This accommodation option ensures you have all the comforts of home, while also providing plenty of flexibility.

At Premier Holidays, we can help you find holiday villas that match your particular requirements. Properties are available across Lanzarote and feature all the amenities you need to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing break.

Discover everything that Lanzarote has to offer

Lanzarote is arguably one of the most beautiful and intriguing of the islands and it's also a bit less busy than some of its neighbours. This makes it a favourite choice for surfers and scuba divers and the dramatic volcanic landscape and golden-sand beaches are simply breathtaking.

Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen are resorts on the eastern side of the island and they are brilliant places to find villas for rent.

With gorgeous beaches and plenty of activities to keep visitors busy, these resorts are also near to the capital city of Arrecife. The city is well worth a visit for the day – and is also located near the airport.

If you'd rather explore the southern-most tip of the island, villas in Playa Blanca could be the ideal place to stay during your trip to Lanzarote.

As the newest resort on the island, Playa Blanca offers many modern luxuries while still maintaining much of its traditional fishing village heritage.

Sightseeing excursions frequently depart from the beautiful harbour, while those who wish to do a bit of island hopping can take the half-hour ferry ride across the Bocaina Strait for an outing to Fuerteventura.

In the south-west of Lanzarote, the Timanfaya National Park is a must-see and the perfect destination for a day trip. The bleak, but beautiful landscape is the result of the intense volcanic activity that once occurred here and visitors often compare it to an alien planet because it's like nothing they've ever seen before.

Although the last major eruptions were nearly 200 years ago, there is still volcanic activity and temperatures below ground quickly rise to between 400 and 600 degrees C. This is commonly demonstrated by pouring water into openings in the ground – resulting in geysers of steam.

The geothermal heat is also put to good use at a restaurant near the park, allowing visitors to enjoy a meal cooked with volcano power, as well as sampling other traditional Canarian food.

Although it's generally not permitted for visitors to walk or drive around the Timanfaya on their own, coach tours and guided walks are available, as well as camel excursions.

Plan a break to Lanzarote with Premier Holidays
