Book a walking holiday with Grand American Adventures

Walking holidaysIf you have a passion for walking and trekking, why not turn your next adventure holiday into an experience you'll never forget?

Grand American Adventures offers a brilliant range of walking tours – whether you are keen to explore the wilderness of Canada, the world-famous national parks of America or hike the renowned Inca Trail in Peru, there's bound to be a perfect break for you.

Why take a walking tour?

Exploring an area on foot is a brilliant way to get up close and personal with spectacular natural scenery. When you book with Grand American Adventures, you'll find a range of walking holidays on offer, designed with active adults in mind.

Hikes can be up to four hours in length and most are of moderate difficulty – perfect if you're seeking out a new challenge or setting a personal fitness goal. And if you find you love spending time in the great outdoors, you'll have the opportunity to sign up for an optional longer or more strenuous hike in certain destinations.

Most of our walking tours are conducted by two leaders, who can either help you set the pace as a group or guide two separate hikes of varying length and difficulty – the choice is yours to make according to your mood and your fitness ability.

Anyone with a reasonably good level of fitness can become part of a Grand American Adventures tour – and of course there's more on offer than just hiking on your adventure holiday.

Why not challenge yourself even further by taking on a new activity such as mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking or white water rafting? You'll find plenty of optional activities to choose from at your destination.

Where can I go on a walking holiday?

If you have always wanted to take a walking holiday in America, of course there's no better place to turn to than Grand American Adventures. But you may be surprised to learn that our expert team also leads tours in other parts of the world – so if you are keen on taking a walking holiday in Canada or a hiking trip to Peru, we'll be able to arrange that too.

In fact, we offer a range of designated walking holidays, including the National Parks Walk, the Canadian Parks Walk and the Classic Peru tour – each of which is designed with foot travel in mind.

The National Parks Walk is the option to choose if you want to hike the stunning landscapes and rugged canyons of Arizona and Utah. Visit the world-famous Grand Canyon National Park, explore Monument Valley with a Navajo guide and fall under the spell of Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands and Arches.

If South American history is another passion of yours and you have a bit more time to spare, why not opt for the Classic Peru tour? Departing from Lima, you'll set off on an epic journey lasting three weeks. In addition to making the legendary trek along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, you'll also have the opportunity to explore the spectacular Colca Canyon and pay a visit to Lake Titicaca – the world's highest navigable lake.

Or if you want to get back to nature and explore the wilderness of the majestic Canadian Rockies, travel to the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta and pay a visit to a trio of unforgettable national parks. You'll find hikes for all abilities in Jasper, Banff and Yoho National Parks – and you'll be warmly welcomed with a dose of friendly Canadian hospitality!
