Tropical holidays in Rarotonga

The innovative reverse auction site Bags-it is going tropical on Monday July 20th as Air New Zealand offer holidaymakers the opportunity to grab bargain return flights to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands.

This is the first ever Cook Island auction and, as an added bonus, everyone who manages to ‘Bags’ a seat to Rarotonga will be offered the chance to get £200 off their hotel with Air New Zealand Holidays.

The auction starts on Monday at 12:00 (GMT) until 15:00. Flights on the site www.bags-it.co.uk will begin to reduce in price by random increments, and at random times until 15:00.

The trick is knowing when to buy. Holding out too long could mean that someone else will get ahead and win.
Scott Carr, Air New Zealand general manager, UK and Europe, comments: “We’ve now run a couple of Bags-it reverse auctions since we launched it to UK customers in April.

“The most steely nerved buyers picked up a fare to Hong Kong for just £149 and to Auckland for just £411 including taxes. If customers can hang in there, they could find themselves living the ‘island life’ sooner than expected”.

For the latest on the Cooks Islands auction and for details on future auctions, bargain hunters can for follow Bags-it on Twitter and become a fan of Bags-it on Facebook.
