The Foreign Office has lifted its recommendation against travel to Vanuatu in the Pacific.

Vanuatu – a string of more than 80 islands once known as the New Hebrides – is a land of cascading waterfalls, volcanoes and stunning beaches.

Vanuatu achieved independence from France and Britain in 1980 and now the main sources of revenue are agriculture and eco-tourism; the Islands’ capital Port-Vila its economic centre.

Holidaymakers have plenty to experience on a trip to Vanuatu: exploring captivating shipwrecks and diving amongst a kaleidoscope of colourful marine life, hiking volcanoes, abseiling waterfalls or simply relaxing on Vanuatu’s copious scenic beaches. The list goes on…
