Travel blog: Around the UK with Eggonomics

Thursday, 23 July 2009 12:00 AM

Ben and Roger at the start of their journey

Ben and Roger at the start of their journey

Our popular ‘eggonomics’ travel blogger Ben Aitken has abandoned his organic omelettes, Roger the Nissan campervan (with a clutch like bronchitis) and indeed the British Isles for a spell in the southern hemisphere.

The freelance travel writer and theatre critic will be exploring Australia and sharing a frank and bustling account of life downunder.

In typical Ben fashion the trip is likely to include periods of idling – when entire weeks are passed in books and pubs – but on the whole he’ll be busy learning, writing and surviving.

He may even get active through his membership of organic farming charity WWOOF – which is essentially couch surfing but on farms.

He’ll be writing a blog of his likely misfortunes and sharing it all with travelbite.co.uk.
