Fly to Boston with Virgin Atlantic

written by Dan Casper March 19, 2016

Fly to Boston with Virgin Atlantic

One of the largest and most historic cities on the east coast of the United States, Boston is a beautiful destination to head to whether you're on holiday, business or just visiting family.

If you want to book flights to Boston, take a look at Virgin Atlantic's website to find out our best prices. As one of the world's leading airlines we offer Economy, Premium Economy and Upper Class flights, so you can travel in style and comfort.

Boston is a charming city that offers something for everyone

Boston is steeped in history, so if you're something of a culture vulture this is one place that will definitely appeal to you. One of the things the city is best known for is the Boston Tea Party, an event that took place in 1773 and saw American colonists oppose British rule helping to spark the start of the American Revolutionary War. Head to Fort Point Channel and you'll get to see life-size replicas of the ships that were involved in the uprising.

Following the famous Freedom Trail will guide you past 16 of the city's most historic landmarks, including the site of the Boston Massacre and the Park Street Church, with the latter building playing a key role in the anti-slavery movement.

Alternatively, you can visit the Institute of Contemporary Art to see works by the likes of Picasso and Warhol, among others. Head to the Museum of Fine Arts, meanwhile, and you will see Renaissance-era paintings and one of the largest collections of Asian art in the world.

Boston is also home to one of the country's most famous baseball sides – the Red Sox. Heading to the team's Fenway Park stadium to take in a game will be a memorable way to get a slice of American sporting action. The TD Garden arena, meanwhile, is used by the Celtics and Bruins, the city's basketball and ice hockey teams respectively.

Shopaholics will also find plenty to keep them occupied, with the Prudential Center mall featuring dozens of well-known brands. While here, make sure you check out the Skywalk Observatory, the only high-level vantage point in the city that offers 360 degree views of the metropolis. The city's Newbury Street district, meanwhile, is home to designer boutiques and independent stores. You'll also find restaurants that serve a wide range of cuisine, including Spanish, Indian and French.

Benefits of flying with Virgin Atlantic

Whether you're booking seats in Economy or Upper Class with Virgin Atlantic, you can be sure of travelling comfort as you'll be provided with a choice of great-tasting meals and drinks during your flight and we cater to a number of special dietary requirements, offering vegan, kosher and low-fat meals, among others.

Choose Economy and you'll enjoy complimentary drinks and great-tasting meals while your personal seatback TV will keep you entertained throughout the duration of the flight. If you're travelling with kids, you wouldn't need to worry about them becoming bored or fidgeting, as they will be given K-iD backpacks that are bursting with goodies and be able to watch a dedicated children's channel on the seatback TV.

Select Premium Economy and you will settle into a comfortable leather seat before a member of our cabin crew greets you with a complimentary drink and newspaper before take-off. You will also get a Premium Economy amenity kit which contains all the essentials you need, including an eyemask and toothbrush, to have a comfortable, relaxing flight.

For a really stylish way to fly, though, book Upper Class. This is all about travelling in pure luxury and you'll be given a complimentary glass of champagne before take-off and be provided with gourmet food served on china plates.

If you're flying from London Heathrow to Boston, why not travel to the airport in style in a chauffer-driven limo? When you arrive at the airport, you can then take advantage of private check-in so you have more time to spend relaxing in our award-winning clubhouse before stepping on to your plane. When you're flying back to Heathrow, you can take a shower and refresh yourself in our exclusive revivals lounge.

Our Upper Class cabins are the equivalent of business class travel, so during your flight you can plug your laptop into the dedicated electrical socket and work or relax by watching a film on the 12.1 inch touchscreen monitor.
