Explore beautiful Patagonia with Grand American Adventures

Patagonia adventure holidaysIf you want your next holiday to combine unspoiled wilderness with spectacular mountains and magnificent glaciers, Patagonia could be the perfect place for your adventure.

This South American region is full of surprises – as you journey through Argentina and Chile, you're sure to have an experience you will never forget.

Best of all, when you book your Patagonia adventure holidays with Grand American Adventures, you'll benefit from our expertise in active breaks – there is always plenty to do on one of our trips!

Patagonia tours with Grand American Adventures

Our Patagonia tours begin in the beautiful city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, which is considered to be the most European of all the Latin American cities thanks to its wide boulevards and spectacular architecture. Here, you'll be able to soak up the local culture before your real adventure begins!

During your travels, you'll make your way to Ushuaia, a former penal colony that holds the distinction of being the most southerly town in the world. Here, you'll be able to see snow-capped peaks year-round as well as plenty of wildlife – in addition to sea lions, more than 150 different types of bird have been spotted in this region.

In Chile, you'll have the opportunity to spend several days at Torres del Paine National Park, which was declared a Unesco Biosphere Reserve in 1978. This park is home to some of the most stunning scenery in the world – it is home to ice fields, green valleys, towering peaks and unique green and blue lakes. This is a great location to try out camping – tents and bedding are included.

If you love outdoor pursuits, you will find plenty to like about this part of Patagonia. Weather permitting, try the challenging hike along the valley of the Rio Asencio or take a boat trip on Lago Grey to get up close and personal with a mighty glacier.

If you're a hiker, you'll also enjoy stopping at El Chalten – a tiny settlement that provides the perfect base for exploring the amazing Fitzroy mountain range.

But our trips offer much more than hiking alone. When you travel to Patagonia with Grand American Adventures, you can also take part in a range of other optional activities, including horseback riding, a catamaran cruise or an evening of entertainment featuring tango dancers.

What to expect on your trip to Patagonia

When you book South America tours with Grand American Adventures, you can rest assured we will ensure you are taken care of from the moment you make your booking.

When it comes to accommodation, our trips to Patagonia include a mix of stays in hotels, hosterias and prepared campsites where sleeping bags, mattresses, large tents and towels are included. While our holidays are more adventure-focused than luxury-based, you can rest assured that you'll always have a warm, dry and comfortable bed to rest in each evening.

During your Patagonia tour, you'll be accompanied by an experienced bilingual tour leader who is fluent in both English and Spanish. This individual will be able to give you a hand with anything you might need while you are away from home, as well as detailed information about all the places you will visit on your journey.

Your tour leader will also be able to help you plan which of the optional activities you wish to take part in while on your adventure. We recognise that some activities might not be for everyone, so you will always have the choice of opting in or out of trips, treks and events depending on your mood and ability.
