Enjoy a rewarding gap trip volunteering in Asia with i-to-i

If you're considering a gap trip in Asia, why not look into the opportunities available for volunteering in this part of the world?

Huge, colourful Asia is packed with unforgettable experiences for travellers who make the effort to give something back to the local communities they interact with when exploring this wonderful destination.

Volunteer in Asia with i-to-i and you can choose from dozens of trips offering the chance to work with children, care for the environment or build new homes while soaking up the rich history and culture of one of the world's most attractive continents.

All about volunteering in Asia

Whatever kind of experience you're looking for as a volunteer in Asia, i-to-i's diverse range of programmes could be ideal.

If you have a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) qualification, our most popular package might be just what you want – imagine travelling to bustling Kathmandu in Nepal to give youngsters at the city's Buddhist monasteries the benefit of your expertise and spending your free time trekking in the beautiful mountains.

You can also teach English in Goa – India's laidback beach-filled hotspot – as well as in Thailand, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, China, the Philippines and Vietnam.

Other projects also offer the chance to work with children in a different way, with some of our schemes enabling volunteers to help young ones living in child protection homes in Nepal and orphans in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City.

Some of our most popular packages involve conservation and looking after animals, thanks to Asia's wide range of flora and fauna.

If this appeals to you, you may want to consider helping out at an elephant sanctuary in Sri Lanka or aiding efforts to care for endangered giant pandas in China – both of which will allow you to spend your free time taking in some unforgettable historic and cultural sights.

Alternatively, why not try our Malaysian orangutan experience on the island of Borneo, or perhaps think about assisting the maintenance of the gorgeous beaches and jungle on the Thai island of Koh Tao?

Another kind of project that we offer at i-to-i is the opportunity to help those living in underprivileged communities – travel to Vietnam and you could find yourself aiding efforts to build housing for disadvantaged families, while also being able to explore this exciting country for yourself.

If you like the idea of helping out with building initiatives, you can also head to the Himalayas to construct greenhouses or to Chitwan National Park in Nepal to assist with school building and renovation projects.

There are many more things you could do as a volunteer abroad – all you have to do is make the leap and get booking!

Volunteer in Asia with i-to-i

With experience of sending thousands of travellers away on volunteering trips every year, i-to-i is the expert in responsible adventures.

Book an Asian package with us and you will benefit from the knowledge of our well-travelled team and excellent customer support from start to finish.

Anyone between the ages of 18 and 80 can go on one of our tours, and there are opportunities to go with a friend and even take part in multiple projects in a single trip.

Part of the Year Out Group and the Know Before You Go scheme devised by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, you can rest assured that you're booking with the experts in gap travel.

All of our packages are covered by the ATOL protection initiative and our membership of ABTA – The Travel Association, so your money will be safe with us no matter what happens.
