Where to go on a Turkish family holiday

Many people book cheap hotels in Turkey every summer to make the most of its warm climate, golden beaches and historical attractions. So, if you're considering taking your family on holiday to Turkey, where are the best places to visit?

Turkey is a country of contrasts, with beautiful shorelines, bountiful forests, busy cities and a whole host of ancient sites to explore.

Here are the top picks of the destinations that will really make your trip special.

Marmaris

This is one of the most popular destinations in Turkey for holidaymakers, and it's hardly surprising as it boasts a large marina, plenty of places to eat and drink and a beautiful coastline.

The holiday resort is set on a backdrop of forest-laden mountains and most visitors come here to make the most of the golden beaches, where they can lie down and bask in the warm sunlight.

Families in particular will enjoy a trip to Marmaris, as there are several amenities here that will keep children entertained throughout the holiday.

You'll be able to find a wide selection of water sports, if they fancy heading out into the sea, or they could amuse themselves at the bowling alley, cinemas and shopping centres that can be found in the town.

There are more than 3,000 eating places to choose from, which means that even with the fussiest of eaters, you're sure to find somewhere that offers a menu all the family will enjoy.

The area is also home to many hotels, including Musti's family apartments in Marmaris, Turkey. Here, kids will be able to enjoy the swimming pool, table football and darts, while it is also just ten minutes from the beach.

Hisaronu

Another destination you might be keen on visiting is Hisaronu, situated on Turkey's Turquoise Coast.

While smaller than Marmaris, there is still plenty to do here, with an array of bars, restaurants and shops within the village.

You'll also be able to get a glimpse of local life as you can head to the weekly market held every Monday, where you will be certain to pick up a bargain or two.

Olu Deniz

Olu Deniz is another beautiful location in Turkey that will make for a perfect family holiday.

This resort is a sheltered lagoon situated at the bottom of hills covered in green pine trees. As it is protected from the open sea, you'll be able to take in views of the isolated bay and shimmering azure waters.

Indeed, this spectacular vista has meant the area has grown increasingly popular with holidaymakers over the years, who all want to get a slice of paradise during their break.

You can even look to hire a car in Turkey and make your way from Hisaronu to Olu Deniz if you fancy a daytrip, or wish to explore more than just one beach resort during your break.

If you are staying in Olu Deniz, you'll find plenty to keep you busy. While the lagoon itself is protected and only non-motorised sports are allowed to take place here, the main beach offers a variety of water sports. It is also home to a number of shops, restaurants and cafes.

Turkey is an ideal location for a beach break, with more than 300 blue flag shores and 8,000 km of coastline, so why not make your next trip special and book a holiday here today?
