Take a Family Discovery Tour with Grand American Adventures

Adventure holidays for familiesIf you are looking for a break that appeals to travellers of all ages, why not book a family adventure holiday?

At Grand American Adventures, we have a special range of Family Discovery Tours which will ensure that everyone in your group has a brilliant time getting back to nature during your trip to the United States.

While the average age of children on these tours is 13, the minimum age a child can attend – while accompanied by their parents – is eight years old.

But no matter what age you are, you can choose from a range of full accommodation or camping holidays that guarantee fun for the entire family.

Is a Family Discovery Tour right for me?

If your kids are active and adventurous, they are sure to love the range of adventure holidays for families available from Grand American Adventures.

Your specially-designed break is created with parents in mind too – we take the hassle out of planning an itinerary and driving so you can kick back and relax.

We will make sure there's never a dull moment for your kids – there is less time spent 'on the road' than a traditional tour. There are plenty of opportunities to try new activities such as horse riding and scenic nature walks. You may even be lucky enough to see wild animals in their natural habitats!

Best of all, you'll be travelling in a small group, meaning you and your little ones may have the opportunity to make friends from all over the world during your family holiday in America.

While a Family Discover Tour may not be for groups whose idea of a perfect break is lounging poolside in five-star accommodation, any family with a sense of adventure and a love of activities will have a brilliant time.

Where can I go on a family holiday to America?

At Grand American Adventures, we offer several brilliant getaways for families, passing through some of America's most beautiful and exciting national parks.

On our Cowboys and Indians tour, you'll begin your holiday in Las Vegas before heading to the beautiful national parks of Utah and Monument Valley, where you can take a jeep tour led by an experienced Navajo guide. You'll be able to swim to your heart's content in the incredible man-made Lake Powell before you continue to the majestic Grand Canyon National Park. Finally, you'll return to Las Vegas via the magnificent Hoover Dam.

Along your journey, you'll also be able to participate in a number of optional activities if you wish. These can include guided nature walks along the rim of the Grand Canyon, visiting a Utah ghost town on mountain bikes, swimming galore and horseback riding.

If you're after a family camping holiday, you can opt for the wonderful Western Discovery tour, which is ideal for groups looking to get back to nature. On this adventure, you'll start in San Francisco before taking a gold rush-inspired trip to Yosemite National Park. You'll spend three nights here enjoying the best of this natural paradise before passing through the Sierra Nevadas and visiting two of Utah's most well known parks – Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. You'll have the chance to get a first-hand look at Native American life in Monument Valley before concluding your trip with a visit to the Grand Canyon and spectacular Las Vegas.

Meals are included on this camping-based family holiday and you're sure to have a brilliant time in the great outdoors.

There's more to our family tours than the designated Family Discovery itineraries – in fact, we can modify almost any of our adult tours in North and South America for travellers of all ages. You can even organise your own private departure if there are eight or more people in your group – contact our helpful team for more information.
