Spa breaks at top Jersey luxury hotels

Friday, 15 April 2011 12:00 AM

If you are searching for a luxury holiday with a difference, why not take a look at what spa breaks in Jersey have to offer.

The island has a well-deserved reputation as an upmarket holiday destination, thanks to its combination of marinas, golf courses, top-class restaurants and beautiful scenery. And you will find Jersey’s luxury hotels are a great place to enjoy some pampering during your break.

As well as offering high-quality accommodation and food, a number of the island’s best hotels have spas where you can relax in style and try out some decadent treatments.

Many of the hotel and spa complexes are in the capital St Helier – including the five-star Grand Jersey, which boasts stunning views over St Aubin’s Bay.

Its spa offers aromatherapy, hydrotherapy and innovative thalassotherapy treatments, or you could just spend a lazy day enjoying the pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and sensory experience showers. You can be assured the experience will be of the highest quality, as the Grand Jersey has twice been named UK Residential Spa of the Year in the Professional Beauty Awards.

If you have settled on St Helier for your holiday, you may also want to consider booking rooms at the Royal Yacht Hotel. Its Spa Sirene facility uses natural Phytomer products in its range of treatments, which include Ionithermie, facials and body sculpting wraps, as well as reflexology, reiki and Hopi ear candling.

After allowing the qualified therapists to work their magic with skin treatments and massages, you can spend a few hours relaxing in the Jacuzzi, sauna or steam rooms and on the thermal couches. Following an afternoon at Spa Sirene, you should be in exactly the right mood to enjoy a meal at the hotel’s chic waterfront restaurant, Sirocco.

There are other top-class facilities available if you are staying in St Helier, including the Ayush Wellness Spa at Hotel De France, the stylish Club Hotel & Spa, and the Beautique Salon at the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel.

Not all Jersey spas are located in the capital and you will find some top-class hotels in other scenic spots on the island.

L’Horizon Hotel & Spa in the south-west of Jersey boasts stunning views over the beautiful beach at St Brelade’s Bay and has all the facilities you would expect to find at a four-star property, as well as an excellent seafood restaurant.

It is also home to a superb spa and health club complex, where you can enjoy a workout in the gym or swimming pool, before allowing yourself to be pampered for a few hours. The spa offers a huge range of treatments using Elemis products and a range of massages, as well as a Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

If you are not planning to stay in a spa hotel for your holiday, you can still enjoy a day of treatments and relaxation at the island’s only day spa – Les Roches, located in rural surroundings in the picturesque area of St Ouen.

The complex has a team of qualified professionals who can carry out a full range of advanced massages, holistic therapies and skincare treatments using a variety of natural products.

With a swimming pool, sauna and even a library on site, a visit to Les Roches is the perfect way to spend a relaxing afternoon during a busy programme of sightseeing whilst on holiday in Jersey.
