Explore Munich by hire car

written by Dan Casper March 19, 2016

Explore Munich by hire car

The capital of Germany's Bavaria region, Munich is a brilliant destination to visit, not least of all because it is full of historic attractions. Whether you are plan on going to the city for a weekend break or are travelling on business, hiring a car here is a great way to get around.

In coming to Auto Europe, you'll be able to rent one of our expansive fleet of high-quality automobiles that will provide you with the freedom to explore as you please.

With us, you can hire a car at Munich Airport and enjoy the open road in next to no time.

Why hire a car in Munich?

As Munich is one of the biggest cities in the country, there is a lot to see and do here, so there should be something for every interest.

Hire a car with us and as soon as you pick up your keys from the airport desk, you can get out there and explore. By doing so you don't have to hang about waiting for a coach or try to tell a taxi driver where you want to go.

Having your own car makes it much easier to get around and you'll be able to go where you please when it suits you. This could be particularly handy if you have several business appointments scheduled or you simply want to drop off your bags at your hotel so you can start visiting the main landmarks straightaway.

The airport is about a 30-minute drive from the city centre, so it shouldn't take you too long to get to where you want to go from the terminal.

Before you set off, remember that motorists in Germany drive on the right-hand side of the road and the speed limit in urban areas is 50 km per hour (about 31 miles per hour).

With this in mind, you can soon start exploring the city – whether you want to see historic landmarks such as the 15th-century Frauenkirche cathedral and the eye-catching Neuschwanstein castle or cultural institutions like the Munich Residenz, which is dedicated to interior design.

Another of the city's most popular attractions is the Marienplatz – a large public square that has the Marian column at its centre.

However, hiring a car from Munich Airport doesn't mean that you have to be confined to driving within the city's limits. You will, of course, have the freedom to explore the rest of Bavaria and take in the wider region's many attractions and splendours.

You could take the Autobahn A8 to visit Stuttgart, which is home to landmarks such as the 12th-century Stiftskirche church and the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

Alternatively, you may wish to travel to Nuremberg using your hire car from Munich Airport where you take in the beautiful Lake Constance, which is nestled at the foot of the Alps.

Come to Auto Europe for fantastic hire cars in Munich

Whether you plan on staying within the Munich area or fancy going on a tour through southern Germany, by coming to Auto Europe you'll be able to pick from a wide range of high-quality cars.

With everything from compact vehicles to luxury models available, you can be sure of finding something suitable for your needs. However, for a truly authentic German driving experience, why not hire a BMW or Mercedes-Benz?
