Quirky boat rental options for Diamond Jubilee

written by Dan Casper May 17, 2016

Holidaymakers that don’t want to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee by paying 54 per cent more for a hotel in London, should consider trying out some slightly more unusual accommodation options according to Owners Direct.

The self-catering accommodation company are launching a variety of quirky rental offers during the Jubilee break – including boat rentals on the Thames.

The different self-catering options all have an added bonus, because those staying on London’s iconic river will be at the heart of all the celebrations, including the planned lavish River Pageant from Putney to Greenwich on Sunday June 3rd.

One hotel boat is even offering a special Jubilee midweek discount for half-term week starting on Monday June 8th of £200 per night based on a six-person occupancy. The rate includes a three hour river cruise in the Henley-on-Thames or Pangbourne area.

However, those who would prefer to stay on land could opt for a few nights at the historic Military Academy Hall in Greenwich. Overlooking the Greenwich Museum in the historic Thames Side Quarter, the Hall is currently available for Jubilee weekend and half term week. The cost is £110 per person per night, based on 10 sharing.
