Enjoy a luxury holiday in South Africa

written by Dan Casper March 19, 2016

Enjoy a luxury holiday in South Africa

South Africa is an ideal location for a luxury holiday, with the country boasting excellent opportunities for safari adventures, wine tours and whale watching. At Wanderforth, we tailor trips to your requirements so you can have the getaway you've always dreamed of.

We offer a variety of South Africa holidays for you to choose from, whether you would love to see the Big Five – lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes – up close, you would like to see penguins on the Cape Peninsula or you wish to learn more about the nation's interesting history.

Once you have decided that South Africa is the place for you, our staff will be on hand to help you choose the right itinerary for your trip. Our team of travel experts know our holidays inside out, so can advise you where's the best place for you to stay and what to visit, according to your interests. We can also suggest what experiences are worth taking part in and whether you would benefit from choosing a tour so you can see more of the country. These are just a few of the things you can expect to see and do in South Africa.

Wildlife adventures

South Africa is perhaps best known for its national parks, where holidaymakers can get up close with big cats, elephants, giraffes, zebras and hippos. These are just a few of the animals you will be able to see if you spend time in Kruger National Park or KwaZulu-Natal, Pilanesberg and Madikwe or Victoria Falls.

We offer a range of stylish accommodation options, giving you the chance to sleep in the heart of the bush, where you can hear animals in the wild as you go to bed and when you wake up. As well as luxurious lodges, you will be able to enjoy game drives at dawn and dusk, where trained guides will help you spot South Africa's majestic creatures.

As well as these once-in-a-lifetime safari opportunities, South Africa is home to other creatures that you can see face to face. At Cape Point, you'll be able to see a colony of African penguins, as well as migratory birds.

You could also take a trip to Hermanus on South Africa's southern coast, which offers the best chance to spot whales from the shore. Between June and December, southern right whales flock to Walker Bay, and you can spot their tails flipping out of the water whether you jump aboard a boat, hop on a plane or stand on the coastline. September is one of the best times to visit, as this is when the annual whale festival is held to celebrate the mating season.

Winelands

Something else that attracts holidaymakers to South Africa every year is to head to its Winelands district to take in the sights of the beautiful countryside covered in vineyards and Dutch architecture, as well as sample some of the nation's best tipples.
This will enable you to see a different side to the country, soaking up the European atmosphere here and tasting the delicious offerings of cheese and wines this region is famous for.
