Rockies Fly Drive Tour

The title says it all! A fly drive holiday taking in all the major sights of Western Canada: Vancouver, Banff and Jasper.

Itinerary:
Day 1:
Fly to Vancouver. 9.5 hours.
Day 3: Collect your hire car and drive up the Fraser Valley perhaps stopping at Hell’s Gate for a tram ride over the river, Overnight in Lac Le Jeune, near Kamloops. 3 hours 45 mins, 220 miles.
Day 4: Follow the Yellowhead highway along the North Thompson River, past Mount Robson to Jasper. 5.5 hours, 280 miles.
Day 6: Jasper to Banff via the Icefield Parkway. 4 hours, 180 miles. Stop en route at the Athabasca Glacier for the Snowcoach. At the summit of Bow Pass is the path to the Peyto Lake overlook.
Day 8: Banff to Calgary. 1.5 hours, 80 miles Drop car and overnight flight to London. 8.5 hours.

Possible extensions/variations:
  • Day trip or overnight to Victoria from Vancouver. Out by float plane,back by ferry/bus.
  • Wells Gray Park.
  • Substitute Lac Le Jeune for ranch experience. 2 night spa package at Hills Health Guest Ranch, 108 Mile House. Manicure with reflexology, massage, pedi spa and facial or any of the other ranches in the area.
