The Celtic Manor Resort is set in 1400 acres of panoramic parkland, which lends itself perfectly to the numerous outdoor activities which are available on site.

Mountain Biking
There are numerous woodland trails which wind their way around the Resort’s grounds, offering an ideal location for mountain biking enthusiasts or those who just want some gentle exercise and fresh air during their stay.

Mountain bikes for adults and children are available to hire on a half or full day basis, as are helmets and biking shoes. If you prefer to bring your own bikes, we will of course, store them securely on your behalf.

Walking and Hiking
The same woodland trails are also ideal for walks, a gentle jog or a five mile run. Within the Resort estate, the scenery is glorious taking you via the golf courses, through the woods and along the Usk Valley.

For those who want to explore further afield, there are plenty of established routes in the local area, such as the 50-mile Usk Valley Walk which offers quiet countryside, wonderful views, sleepy villages, market towns and medieval castles.

Shooting
For lovers of outdoor sporting pursuits, Treetops Shooting School is located in woodland, a 15-minute drive from Celtic Manor and caters for all levels of expertise, from beginners to professionals. It offers clay pigeon shooting with expert tuition in a safe, professionally-managed environment. Guests from the Resort are transported to and from the shooting school.

Treetops was voted best UK shooting school 2002 by Shooting Times and Sporting Gun magazines.

Hourly sessions are available for bookings of 1 - 5 people. Half day packages are available for groups of 6 or more.

Fishing
Concierge can organise a range of activities in the local area on request. Fishing is available on the scenic River Usk or at nearby lakes. South East Wales provides a number of excellent locations for fishing including the River Wye which is popular for salmon and the River Usk which is a popular fly fishing region. Locally, the Llangdegfedd Reservoir is popular for trout and only 5 minutes from the Resort.

Horse riding is also available close by and can be arranged on request.
