Cruise to Antigua for the Classic Yacht Regatta

Antigua is one of the best locations in the world for sailing yachts, thanks to its trade winds and plethora of harbours to explore.

For those heading on a Antigua cruise in the spring, a host of yacht-related events are on hand to offer the thrilling spectacle of some impressive vessels racing for big prizes.

Perhaps the most well-known of these is the four-day Classic Yacht Regatta in April, which is hosted by the Antigua Yacht Club and sees between 50 and 60 competitors try their hand at sailing into first place across the sparkling blue waters of the Caribbean.

While in Antigua, why not get up close and personal with your gorgeous surroundings and check out scenic spots such as Fig Tree Drive, which runs from a low plain in the middle of the island through the Parish of Saint Mary's ancient volcanic hills to the south-west.

Alternatively, you may want to simply relax on one of Antigua's hundreds of beaches, or perhaps play a round of golf, go diving and snorkelling, visit one of its many historical sites or take a day cruise around the island.

Going on an excursion to nearby Barbuda and its exotic pink sand beaches might also be a good option, particularly if you're looking for a more undeveloped, laidback place to spend some time in.
