The Travel Photographer of the Year exhibition has proved such a hit with visitors to London that organisers have decided to extend the exhibition's closing deadline.

Featuring the winning images from the 2011 international Travel Photographer of the Year awards - including all the stories behind the pictures, along with historic images from the Royal Geographical Society’s archives and a series of special showcases - the free to view exhibition has been drawing large numbers of crowds.

The exhibition has been described by some visitors as 'a fantastic voyage of discovery through countries and cultures'.

In response to the overwhelming popularity of the event, organisers have decided to extend the display for a further two weeks; the new closing date will be September 2nd.

Travel Photographer of the Year at the Royal Geographical Society one of the world's most prestigious photography awards, open to amateur and professional photographers of all ages and free to enter. The event regularly attracts entries from over 90 countries each year.
