Almost half of Brits don't know the Queen's age

Do you know how old the Queen is? Despite her Diamond Jubilee being celebrated this weekend, apparently almost half of us have no idea that Her Royal Highness is 86 years old.

Generator Hostels discovered, when they decided to test public knowledge of the Queen with a Jubilee survey, that 10 people even think that the Queen is called Victoria, and believe she is married to Prince Charles!

Thankfully the majority of Brits were much better at the Royal quiz - 66 per cent know that a Diamond Jubilee celebrates The Queen’s 60th year on the throne and 91 per cent could name her correctly. 

The poll also found that The Duchess of Cambridge is the country’s favourite royal with 36 per cent of the vote, followed closely by Prince Harry who came in with 32 per cent. 

Julia Luker, from Generator Hostels, commented: “Millions of us are looking forward to celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this weekend. It will be a great chance for the nation to celebrate with Her Majesty the Queen and enjoy the many planned festivities."

Generator Hostels are having their own Jubilee celebrations - . guests at the London hostel in Russell Square will be offered the chance to enter the royal photo booth and strike their regal pose in an attempt to grab the royal title. At the end of the day a coronation will reveal the hostel’s own ‘Queen For The Day’.
