Angry Birds theme park to launch in Finland

An unstoppable force? Angry Birds are invading Finland.
A theme park, based on the popular smartphone game app 'Angry Birds', is being planned in Tampere, Finland.
‘Angry Birds Land’ will be themed and designed according to the style of the world’s leading amusement parks. As well as the usual rides and activities, it will also include a 'Magic Places' area, where activities and the gaming world meet.
Harri Koponen, Rovio´s EVP Lisensing and Merchandising, said: "Our goal is to motivate the fans, both adults and children, to exercise and enjoy the outdoors.”
The theme park will be part of Finland’s existing amusement park, the Särkänniemi Adventure Park in Tampere.
Miikka Seppälä, CEO of Särkänniemi Adventure Park, said: “We wanted to create a unique themed area and associate it with a strong and well-known brand. The Angry Birds characters were born in Finland but known worldwide by people of all ages. This is a perfect fit for our Adventure Park.”
Särkänniemi Adventure Park’s summer season opens on April 28th, and sneak peeks of the construction of Angry Birds Land will be shown on Särkänniemi Adventure Park’s website.
