Udaipur provided locations for the film
Real Holidays has promoted packages giving travellers the opportunity to visit locations in India featured in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, a new movie due to be released on February 24th.
Based on the Deborah Moggach novel These Foolish Things, the comedy stars Judi Dench, Tom Wilkinson, Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy as four retirees who decide to spend their twilight years in a restored Indian palace hotel.
Upon arrival, however, they find that the Marigold Hotel is an old and decrepit property whose young owner, played by Dev Patel, has run out of money.
The film is set in Bangalore but was shot in Udaipur and Jaipur.
Real Holidays highlighted a number of packages exploring these areas, including a seven-night itinerary that combines the city of Bangalore with temples, palaces and markets in Mysore.
Prices start from £1,041 per person, including flights, transfers and sightseeing tours.
Travellers can head to Jaipur - which is also known as the Pink City - to visit locations such as the City Palace, World Trade Park and Tripolia Bazaar, all of which were used in the production of the movie.
A holiday package in this part of India also offers the chance to see Rajput-era palaces, lakes, jewellery markets and the Amber Fort.
Rates start from £1,250 per person, including flights, transfers, sightseeing tours, two nights in Jaipur and an overnight train to Udaipur, where guests will stay for three nights.
