The site provides information on shopping locations throughout Philadelphia
Travellers planning a trip to Philadelphia can find out more about some of the bargains and tax-free shopping opportunities in the city by logging on to a new website.
Taxfreephilly.com was launched this week and is aimed at visitors from the UK, as well as other important tourism source markets for the region such as Germany, France, Italy and Brazil.
Users of the site can access news and facts about shopping in Philadelphia and also see up-to-date travel packages featuring hotel and flight deals.
Every month, new deals and special offers will be added to the online platform, allowing potential visitors to compare prices on name brand items or enter competitions to win shopping vouchers.
The website also features an interactive map so shoppers can plot their routes and select locations they would like to visit from a list of more than 200 boutiques, department stores and other retail outlets.
Users of Twitter and Facebook can keep up with news, deals and other developments from Philadelphia's shopping scene by checking updates provided by the site's 'shopping ambassadors', three foreigners who are currently living in the city.
Jack Ferguson, president and chief executive of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, said: "Everyone is looking for a bargain these days.
"Our taxfreephilly.com website is a great added feature to promote Philadelphia as a premier shopping destination to international travellers by showing visitors how much they can save."
