London visitors can hire bikes to explore the city

InterContinental London Park Lane has teamed up with author and bike expert Rob Penn to launch B-Spoke, a new package for cycling enthusiasts.

The experience includes a hosted bike ride with Mr Penn, whose book It's All About the Bike: The Pursuit of Happiness on Two Wheels documents the year he spent building the perfect bicycle.

Available on request throughout September and October 2011, the package allows guests to ride around London on 'Boris bikes', which are available to hire as part of the scheme introduced by mayor Boris Johnson last year.

Cyclists of all abilities can take part and choose their own tour route, possibly taking in the capital's famous parks and landmarks while learning about Mr Penn's philosophy on how cycling can inspire better living.

The B-Spoke package is available from £359 per room plus VAT for two people sharing.

One night's accommodation is included, along with breakfast at the Cookbook Cafe, a two-hour hosted ride and use of two bikes.

The new offering is the latest addition to a range of activities available at the InterContinental London Park Lane, which the hotel describes as "part of its commitment to offering guests authentic and enriching experiences".
