Historic Alnwick Castle is to play host to Jane Austen this September.

Set in the rolling countryside of Northumberland, the 1,000-year-old castle is offering visitors the chance to immerse themselves in Austenian elegance with an exclusive open-air performance of Pride and Prejudice.

On September 5th 2010 Laura Turner's adaptation of the Jane Austen literary classic by the Chapterhouse Theatre Company, will portray Elizabeth Bennett and her sister Jane's quest for love with the enigmatic Mr Darcy.

After being wrapped up in the notoriously vivacious courtship dance that is Pride and Prejudice, visitors will have the opportunity to meet and chat with the characters.

From 5pm early bird dining will be on offer in the Courtyard café, as well as the option to picnic in the stunning Castle grounds.

Tickets cost £12 for adults, £8 for Children, or family tickets can be purchased for £35.
