The Art of Conversation travel card game

The Art of Conversation travel card game

A special travel edition of a popular game has been developed to keep frequent travellers entertained on those long journeys.

The Art of Conversation (TAOC) game was developed by Louise Howland and Keith Lamb as a fun way to encourage players of all ages to become better communicators.

The travel edition is designed to be used as both a game and educational resource and draws on the players' passion for travel - and talking about it.

It is based on a set of cards with a series of conversation prompting questions based on the subject of travel. Players are asked to read out the question which then stimulates conversation and discussion or can be used as part of a competitive game.

The travel theme is used through the game to illustrate several related subjects. Comprehensive endnotes are provided, in the 24 page guidebook, which painlessly introduce students to many terms specific to geography, anthropology, transport and more so they will be learning without feeling the effort.

TAOTC helps students to develop a broader worldview, become fascinated by places other than their home, share experiences, travel tips, learn travel practicalities, and discuss favourite destinations and more.

The game works regardless of actual travel experiences. It encourages conversation about the world, people and places, experiences, sights and sounds, philosophies and beliefs. Offering world treasures, interesting quotes, and literature - a myriad of exciting discoveries await.

TAOC also allows students to learn and brainstorm about planning and swapping practical travel tips, which can mean avoiding rip-offs, learning how to bag a bargain, or about an unexpected destination.

You'll find The Art of Conversation travel game available to purchase on the TOAC website.
