'Sorry You Missed the 60's' by Philip Townsend
Carnaby Street in London is preparing to host 'Swinging Carnaby' - a weekend of live music, exhibitions, and shopping promotions to celebrate Carnaby in the Sixties.
Over the weekend of Saturday 13th-14th June, guests will be able to enjoy a host of free in-store activities in the Carnaby area - including psychedelic body painting from the pro artists at M.A.C. Beauty fans can also enjoy complimentary a 60's eye makeovers at M.A.C and Pix!
To celebrate the music heritage of Carnaby, bands will perform from a stage in Carnaby Street throughout the weekend; including Connett, Red Track, The Small Fakers and Imperial Leisure.
A host of exhibitions are also set to recapture the spirit of the Sixties.
'Sorry You Missed The 60's' is an exhibition of limited edition prints taken by celebrated 60's photographer Philip Townsend that capture the life of the rich and famous including Sir Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones and Twiggy.
The exhibition will launch Townsend's first book, 'Sorry You Missed the 60's: A Collection of Limited Edition Photographs' which he will be signing from 11:00 on 13th June & 14th June in the exhibition space at 29 Foubert's Place.
The two day event is part of 'The Story of London', a month-long, city-wide initiative from the Mayor's office, celebrating the past, present and future of the capital.
