Cruise the arctic
Those dreaming of exploring the Arctic, this could be the year - as specialist World Expeditions is offering a 25 per cent off selected voyages aboard the Polar Pioneer.
The Arctic's serene splendour offers a vividly different experience to the Antarctic, including the chance to spot polar bears, puffins and Arctic foxes as you cruise past high jagged cliffs and between spectacular icebergs.
It's also a fraction of the cost of an Antarctica cruise.
World Expeditions' Polar Pioneer is an ice-strengthened vessel carrying a maximum of 56 passengers, designed for minimum impact on the pristine Arctic environment. And guests can be aboard one of its expedition cruises for as little as US$5,090 (£3,430).
Arctic Cruises
- Firstly, the 11-day Circumnavigation of Spitsbergen has seen the cost reduced and is now $3,818 (£2,651) per person - allowing guests to get within 600 nautical miles of the North Pole.
On a full circumnavigation of Spitsbergen and its outlying islands guests will view an array of wildlife including polar bear, reindeer, walrus and several species of whale.
Departures on June 23rd and July 13th.
- Or how about the Jewels of the Arctic, which is now $4,793 (£3,328 )per person.
On offer is a chance to combine Spitsbergen with Greenland and Iceland, including wildlife-spotting complemented by historic sites, Inuit culture, tundra and glacier walking.
Departs on July 23rd.
- Finally the 20-day Arctic Dreams has seen the price fall to $6,743 (£4,683) per person.
The ultimate Arctic voyage will allow holidaymakers to cruise from Iceland, along the East Greenland coast, around Spitsbergen and finally down the Norwegian coast. See the world's largest fjords, visit remote Bear Island and view 6,000 year-old petroglyphs.
Departures are on August 5th and 24th.
