Beach holidays in Cyprus
Renowned for its Blue Flag beaches and year round sunshine, Cyprus is a long time favourite for winter sun with British holidaymakers.
However, not many are aware guests can also ski there.
Savvy travellers can combine a winter sun and ski by heading to the Troodos Mountains - located about an hour from Cyprus' main resorts.
The slopes on Mount Olympus, the highest peak of the Troodos Mountains, are open to skiers from January until March. With current good snow conditions and equipment available on site, it has never been easier to enjoy the pleasures of the snow before heading back to the beach.
Furthermore, from March 6th to 8th 2009, the Cyprus Ski Federation will host the 32nd Troodos International FIS Races allowing visitors and locals to see some of the world's best skiers tackle the slopes of Mount Olympus.
With only a four and half hour flight, and many flights available from London and regional airports, Cyprus is the perfect choice for combining a winter sun and skiing break.
