New tour of Canada

Rocky Mountaineer is introducing its brand new Taste of the West package, which invites guests to awaken all of their senses, combining Canadian culinary delights with some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.

The package pampers the taste buds as much as the eyes, with a tasty selection of Canadian delicacies offered to guests both onboard the Rocky Mountaineer train and throughout the destinations visited on this special journey from Victoria, through Vancouver and Kamloops, to Banff and finally Calgary.

Highlights of the Taste of the West package include a full day gastronomy tour of the breathtaking Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, exploring a winery and a lavender farm. Tea at the Fairmont Empress and a Food and Wine Adventure hosted in the 'Show Kitchen' at the Fairmont 900 West Lounge, where chefs discuss the wine and food as they prepare dinner.

Guests are also spoiled on the Rocky Mountaineer, as talented chefs prepare fresh dishes onboard the train, that celebrate the distinctive character of Western Canada.

Goldleaf dining offers a romantic setting with intimate dining rooms, white linen, silverware and unobstructed views of the passing landscape. Meals are accompanied with award winning wines from British Columbia's Okanagan Valley.

"Canadian wine has been produced for over 200 years and The Okanagan Valley in British Columbia is one of the largest wine-producing regions in Canada," said Sarah MacIntyre, director of European sales at Rocky Mountaineer.

"We decided to step up our guest experience with the Taste of the West package, enabling guests to really experience Canada with the opportunity to see, taste and learn about their journey."

The Taste of the West package includes two days onboard the Rocky Mountaineer, seven-nights accommodation, a wine and culinary tour, afternoon tea at the Fairmont Empress, dinner and wine tasting at two Fairmont hotels and rail station transfers.

Guests can book the Taste of the West package, for travel between May 1st - 20th, for £2,245 per person including flights or £1,485 excluding flights.
