First Great Western launches a Night Riviera Sleeper train service from London Paddington to Penzance today (June 23rd).
The sleeper rail service has benefited from a £2 million refurbishment, including upgraded fixtures and fittings, toilets and even bed linen and toiletry packs.
The interiors, with new branding and gentle lighting for both the sleeping and seated carriages, were designed by Michael Rodber, who has done design work for Porsche and Eurostar.
First Great Western chairman Charles Howeson said the train operator recognised the "convenience of being able to make an overnight journey" to Cornwall, saving time and travelling in comfort.
