When it comes to getting Britons abroad worked up when on holiday nothing is more annoying than encountering lager louts a new survey reveals.
As many as 31 per cent of British travellers said that alcohol-fuelled yobs were the most irritating experience when on holiday.
In second place were towels being placed on sun beds, the most annoying thing for 26.2 per cent of Brits, followed by timeshare reps (20.3 per cent), flight delays (16.1 per cent) and mosquitoes (6.4 per cent).
"We were very surprised that the flight delays did not make top spot," said a spokesman for RealHolidayReports.com, who carried out the research.
He added: "Resort bar owners and hotel managers should take a more responsible position when it comes to serving people with too much alcohol, and the sun bed issue has been raging for so many years, you'd think it should have been sorted by now.
"Why not allocate each room their own sun bed via a numbers system, then the need to set your alarm at five in the morning to get up and reserve one would stop."
