Montego Bay is the perfect place for luxury breaks in Jamaica, with the city offering top-quality accommodation, excellent places to eat out and a wide range of interesting attractions.

You can visit local museums if you are keen to learn more about the history of the region, take part in various activities to work up a sweat or simply sit by the beach and soak up the sun's rays - there is something for everyone.

A fan of music? The Bob Marley Experience and Centre is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon learning more about this cultural icon.

Visitors will watch a film about his life and works on a big screen in the air-conditioned theatre, while the centre contains a large collection of souvenirs including Marley t-shirts, music and gifts.

If you're keen to get outside into the glorious Jamaican weather, then a trip to Croydon on the Mountain - a working plantation - is well worth a day out.

Travel through this mountainous region and you will encounter lush vegetation, fascinating animal life and stunning waterfalls.

The tour also allows you to sample some of the local produce, with a barbecued lunch and a cup of the country's renowned Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee included.

One attraction that is popular with kids is the Aquasol Theme Park, as it offers fun-filled activities for youngsters of all ages, whether you have infants or teenagers.

There are a multitude of water sports on offer, as well as tennis courts, basketball courts and a go-kart racing track, while younger children can spend the afternoon exploring the playground.

If you are feeling peckish, the park does have a fish-fry kiosk and a decked bar, making it a great place to grab a quick bite to eat.

However, if you are looking for something a little more substantial, there are plenty of restaurants in the area that provide a mix of local and international cuisine.

Looking to experience home-grown Jamaican cooking? The Pelican Restaurant is a good place to start, with specialties including steamed red snapper with okra, and salted codfish with green bananas.

Corallo, on the other hand, is an option if you fancy more traditional European food, with this top-class Italian restaurant providing a diverse menu of exciting continental dishes.

Eggplant flans, ricotta and spinach, and chicken breast with whiskey cream sauce are just some of the delicious delicacies served at this increasingly popular eatery.
