There's no easier way to discover the vast land of America than by train.

'Great Rail Journeys,' one of the UK's leaders in escorted rail holidays, have now given departure dates to Manchester Airport for their popular USA Coast to Coast holiday.

Until now, flights for the holiday have departed from Gatwick and Heathrow but now the Manchester departure dates are set to make this trip more accessible to those in the UK.

Great Rail Journeys are offering two departure dates from Manchester Airport, the first leaving on April 17th and the second on July 20th. Both departure dates are for the 21- day USA Coast to Coast tour, flying into New York and returning from San Francisco.

The itinerary, using Amtrak rail services, takes in the sights and sounds of New York, Washington, Chicago, Denver and the Grand Canyon before reaching its conclusion in the bustling cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Prices start at £2,995 per person (twin share) and include return flights from Manchester Airport, 16 nights hotel accommodation and three overnight rail journeys.
