New protection for self-catering holiday rental

A leading holiday home website is launching a new payment guarantee system to give holidaymakers more protection when booking online.
Holiday-Rentals.co.uk, which features listings of 40,000 overseas holiday homes available for rental, will offer free payment protection, to help reassure those with reservations about booking private accommodation online.
"At Holiday-Rentals, where we have a large staff dedicated to assuring the legitimacy of properties and maintaining the highest levels of trust and safety on the site, we know that fraud is extremely rare and are happy to provide peace of mind to travellers with this additional guarantee," explained Alexis de Belloy, Holiday-Rentals managing director.
The holiday home specialist reports private rentals have been increasingly popular thanks to their flexibility, low prices and the authentic travel experience they can provide. In 2006 around a quarter of all holidays abroad were in private rented accommodation, most of which are booked directly with the owner.
Holidaymakers can register their trip under the guarantee on the Holiday-Rentals website, after booking and payment for their chosen holiday home.
