Torchwood inspired sci-fi breaks in Cardiff

Cardiff is fast becoming the sci-fi capital of the UK following the success of the BBC's
Doctor Who spin-off,
Torchwood.
As well as
Torchwood, set and filmed in modern-day Cardiff, two
Doctor Who series and have been filmed in the city, which was used as a stand-in for London.
Fans of the shows will be offered a
Doctor Who package by the four-star Park Plaza hotel in Cardiff, voted Wales' best hotel for 2006, which includes entry to the
Doctor Who Up-Close exhibition in Cardiff Bay.
"Interest has been building up. We are expecting the combined effect of
Torchwood and the next
Doctor Who series to create a real buzz about Cardiff locations," said Caroline Sims, of the Park Plaza hotel, Cardiff.
