Strike derails Eurostar comeback

Strike action has derailed the Eurostar comeback, following a fire on the line last month.
While services on the Eurostar are still running at 93 per cent, following a blaze in the haulage compartment of a train on September 11th, a strike by Belgian rail workers will further disrupt services.
On Monday October 6th (22:00 CET), Brussels Midi station and the rest of the Belgian rail network will be closed – preventing services from entering the country.
Furthermore, all high-speed onward rail connections on Thalys or ICE, from Brussels to destinations in France, the Netherlands and Germany will be cancelled – preventing Eurostar from operating a service between the UK and Lille on Monday October 6th.
