Scotland's biggest city has many attractions for holidaymakers, including the famous Willow Tea Rooms and School of Art, but two big festivals make winter an excellent time to visit Glasgow.
In February, film fans are treated to more than 80 films over ten days across the city at the Glasgow Film Festival.
This year's looks to be more appealing than ever as the organisers have put together a line-up promising Hollywood hits old and new, including a John Wayne retrospective and a preview of Robert de Niro's
The Good Shepherd.
There will also be foreign language hits that have made their mark in their home countries and as well as work from Scottish filmmakers.
The festival runs from February 15th to 25th. For more information visit

From March 8th to 24th holidaymakers can catch the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, which will feature top British talent including Russell Brand, Jimmy Carr, Paul Merton and Alan Carr along with some international acts well worth seeing. For more information see
