New Lincolnshire walking guides

Guides to walking holidays in Lincolnshire have been launched for holidaymakers keen to take in the county's outdoor sights.
The guide has a particular emphasis on the Lincolnshire Wolds described as "one of England's best kept secrets, and perfect for walkers".
The area was awarded Outstanding Natural Beauty status in 1973, and has lots of pretty villages, expansive grassland and hills, as well as providing inspiration for the poems of Alfred Lord Tennyson.
In addition to offering a number of marked routes and paths, the Wolds also have a range of creative and therapeutic holiday activities available that can be combined with a walking break, such as yoga and painting courses.
One of the most challenging routes in the guide is the 130-mile Viking Way, which goes from the Humber Bridge through to Rutland.
Along with walking, other holiday activities possible in the county include horse riding along country lanes and cycling. For serious cyclists there is the Lincolnshire section of the Hull to Harwich route, with plenty of easier routes available too, such as the Poachers Country route.
For more information on the walking packs see the
official Lincolnshire visitors website.
