Winter Wonderland in London's Hyde Park

Thursday, 21 Aug 2008 12:03
Tickets are already on sale for what looks set to be London's most spectacular winter attraction - Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.

From November 29th 2008 until January 4th 2009, 3,200 square metres of Hyde Park will offer festive cheer, as well as London's biggest ice rink.

The 50-metre giant observation wheel will yet again offer magnificent views over the capital and the toboggan slide promises to be even more thrilling than last year.

An authentic German Christmas market, which will be twice as big as last year's, will offer a wide variety of arts and crafts stalls for Christmas shopping, as well as Germanic food and drink.

Serving up the German sausages, mulled wine and hot chocolate will be festive food stalls, heated cafes and fully-seated diners, as well as indoor and outdoor bars.

A visit to Winter Wonderland would not be complete without meeting Santa (named 'Best Outdoor Experience' by Time Out's 'Good Santa Guide' last year) and once again this will be free, with each child given a special gift.

Father Christmas will be at the Hyde Park bandstand along with his elves every day, right up until Christmas Eve.

Choirs will perform in the evenings and the trees along the Serpentine Road will sparkle with thousands of Christmas lights, highlighting the beauty of London's best loved park.

Winter Wonderland is free to enter with tokens for all rides and attractions available for purchase on the day.

However advance booking is available and is strongly recommended for the ice rink and giant observation wheel.

For more information see the Winter Wonderland website.
