Lonely Planet photo competition

Friday, 08 Aug 2008 13:50
Lonely Planet is offering travellers the chance to have their photographs featured on guide book covers in a new competition.

Teaming up with Pikeo.com, a photo sharing website, readers can submit travel photos for the latest Encounter guides to London, Paris, Barcelona and Istanbul - to be published next year.

Budding travel photographers have until September 8th 2008 to enter the competition and judging will then take place from September 10th.

The four winners will receive a free trip to India, Russia, Morocco or Kenya courtesy of Intrepid Travel.

Twelve runners-up will also receive prizes, as will a small selection of highly commended entries.

The judges will be travel photography experts, including representatives from the Association of British Photographers and Lonely Planet Images.
