Families looking for late summer day trips in the UK should head for the Eden Project harvest celebration in Cornwall.
For six weeks from September 8th 2008, the festival will feature gardening and food-themed demonstrations, as well as plenty of fabulous food and drink to enjoy.
The festivities will celebrate the food grown on our land and the communities who work hard to produce it.
Beth Lewitt, the Eden Project's food and beverage manager, said: "Harvest at Eden this autumn is going to be a festival of all that's great about food and planting.
"We're really excited to be sharing our skills in great gardening and celebrating all that's fabulous about autumn. Plant it, grow it, cook it, eat it - food for life!"
And later in the month the Eden Ale Festival (September 20th and 21st) will celebrate a wide selection of award-winning local ales and ciders.
During this period, Eden is open every day between 10am and 6pm and all activities are included in standard admission.
UK taxpayers who declare their entry fee as a donation are entitled to unlimited free visits for a year.
