Beowulf storytelling in Suffolk
Monday, 10 Dec 2007 11:12
Two storytelling events are to be held in Suffolk that will appeal to fans of Beowulf, the Anglo-Saxon poem that has recently been turned into a cinematic blockbuster.
On February 16th and March 14th 2008 holidaymakers visiting West Stow Anglo-Saxon village, close to Bury St Edmunds, will have the chance to experience a fire-lit retelling from Beowulf.
The events will replicate how the poem was first heard as many as 1,500 years ago.
As well as the storytelling, visitors can learn more about the tale with a talk from a Beowulf and Anglo-Saxon expert and enjoy a buffet meal before taking a fire-side seat to hear the tale.
Tickets cost £20 per person, including a welcome drink and food.
For more information about the event see
